
WASHINGTON – President Obama today presented former U.S. Senator Edward William Brooke III with the Congressional Gold Medal for his unprecedented and enduring service to the Nation. The ceremony was held in the U.S. Capitol Rotunda.

WASHINGTON – The commemorative quarter-dollar coin honoring the United States Virgin Islands was officially launched today in Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, United States Virgin Islands. United States Mint Deputy Director Andy Brunhart and United States Virgin Islands Governor John P. deJongh Jr. hosted the ceremony.

WASHINGTON – Sales of the 2009 United States Mint Lincoln Coin and Chronicles Set will begin October 15, 2009, at noon Eastern Time (ET). Orders for the set, priced at $55.95, will be limited to one unit per household. The product limit is 50,000 sets.

WASHINGTON – The United States Mint announced today that it will offer for sale 2009 one-ounce American Buffalo Proof Gold Coins and one-ounce American Eagle Platinum Proof Coins. The release dates for these products are tentatively October 29 and December 3, 2009, respectively. In addition, the agency will release the one-ounce 2009 American Buffalo Gold Bullion Coin on October 15 and the fractional 2009 American Eagle Gold Bullion Coins-in the one-half ounce, one-quarter ounce, and one-tenth ounce weights-on December 3.
